Can flu tests ever give false positives? a few days ago i was tested for the flu and now my pain and symptoms are horrible. my throat hurts so bad i cant even speak.

Probably not flu: Do you mean false negative? If the test was positive, probably it wasn't false. If your test was negative, probably that result also was not false. Any standard cold virus can cause the symptoms you describe. In fact, severe sore throat isn't very common in influenza. If you have fever, swollen nodes in your neck, or if pain remains severe for more than 2-3 days, get tested for strep throat.
