The tip/sides of my tongue has been irritated for 1.5 weeks now- i keep wanting to bite it. i've had similar symptoms with foods i'm mildly allergic to but have never last this long. which type of doctor do i need to see? (no pcp)

Your dentist: Or an ENT specialist. This would be best managed by a PCP otherwise, who based on exam may treat or further refer if needed.

Tonhue: A dentist or oral surgeon can evaluate your tongue. They may refer you to an oral medicine specialist for additional evaluation and tests.
