Expert: A highly educated doc is best such as ENT or neurologist or a speech therapist or GI or other specialist. Does not sound like something that can wait.

See a dentist: Tongue inflammation or condition also called self-inflicted traumatic macroglossia. Common symptoms are problems chewing, swallowing, or speaking. Your doctor may prescribe an anti-inflammatory drug or suggest an otc Ibuprofen to help minimize inflammation and reduce pain while the underlying cause is treated. Hope it helps.
