Both my sons have fevers of around 38, occasional vomiting and noisy sore tummies. we did get a doctor to look at them and give kantrexil 4 times a day. would this make them unusually tired?

Illness might: I see no reason the medication would make the kid tired. However, a normal part of the human response to illness is slowing down to permit more focus on recovery.
