A member asked:

Is it safe to take acetaminophen for occasional aches or pains - such as one or two 325mg pills once per week? i've read it shouldn't be taken for more than 10 days even in small doses. what would constitute longterm/unsafe use?

Yes: That will be the only safe use of acetaminophen. Long term use means high doses, close to 4 g/day for 3 weeks or more of daily use. Short courses of up to 1 week of daily use is also usually appropriate with relatively safe margins. Drug-drug interactions are also to be considered as well as preexisting liver disease.
