The most important: Thing is monitoring your situation including fever , chills, coughing up purulent sputum , difficulty swallowing etc. In such situation , see your doc. If symptoms are getting better and as you say it is just a cold , tylenol (acetaminophen) for symptom control and some lozenges would be just fine
