Dilated pupil: There are no significant health risks from a dilated pupil You should wear sunglasses that block the harmful sun rays.There is a surgical procedure if appropriate in your case to reduce the size of your pupil. Your ophthalmologist can make this decision.Certainly it seems you have received great surgical care.

Fixed pupil: Direct sunlight can cause some degree of retinal damage under severe exposure episodes, so protective UV -blocking sunglasses are a good idea in situations where prolonged direct sunlight exposure is a risk. Prevention is the best you can do in this type of situation after all surgical options have been exhausted. I think you have done the best with the situation
