Sure, but...: The chances of having a false positive pregnancy test result AFTER removing and IUD is less than the chances of having a false positive result while the IUD is still in. In other words, if the IUD is out, the positive result is very likely real. In general, with any lab test, anyone can have a false positive and anyone can have a false negative... that's the nature of lab tests.
