Internal Sutures Ok: The material and structure of which internal, permanent sutures are made are designed to be essentially neutral within the body. The same goes for your mesh which was placed, and other implantable medical devices. The sutures are usually monofilament (one strand, not braided), and are made out of nylon or something similar. These things should not cause continued inflammation.
