Chills/serious fever: You are describing what we refer to as "chills": high internal body temperature but cool body surface (due to evaporation of sweat from skin surface; excess sweat is produced as a defense mechanism to loose some of the internal body heat). Fever and chills indicate a serious infection, that can be caused by virulent bacteria, some viruses and parasites (such as Malaria)
