The day before i should get my period, i start getting cramps. the day it's starts the cramps are severe, i get extremely hot & feel like passing out. the pain is in my left hip as well.

Doctor can evaluate: Birth control pills (contain hormones) can be used to help other conditions besides birth control. The pills can help women with acne, frequent periods, heavy periods, painful periods, etc... If a woman wants medication for menstrual cramps, her primary care doctor or Ob-Gyn doctor can help, after an evaluation to be sure nothing unusual is happening in her body. "Severe" cramps need evaluation.
