Was in ed, positive d-dimer but lungs showed no clot, tested positive for flu and was sent home. had issues breathing but md saw no issues with lungs, should i be ignoring that d dimer? or follow up with second opinion? 24 f, healthy non smoker.

D-dimer : Is non-specific and with a positive flu test is usually assumed to be due to infection. The only text that is usually ordered along with CT angio chest is ultrasound of the legs and that is based also on physical exam and medical history.
