Im asthmatic and presently have flu, with heavy breathing my concern is one of my lung collapsed when i was young, now with this symptoms im worried about corona. is this call for concern or i should take flu med?

Basics: Partial lung collapse is not that unusual in young asthma patients but would be dramatic at your age. Your heavy breathing is a non-specific symptom that could just be poorly controlled asthma or that with a lung infection. Some prescription flu meds are helpful when started in the 1st 48-72 hrs of symptoms. You may want to contact a local doc for concerns about Covid-19.

Asthma/Screen: Flu and Coronavirus screening may be completed by your physician. Typically both illnesses are associated with fever. Your asthma exacerbation should be treated with an anti inflammatory medication. Follow your asthma action plan and take your Albuterol as directed for symptoms.
