A member asked:

I tried ear candling for the first time yesterday. i was very careful but today, my ears feel sensitive, especially when i bend over or lay down. could the candle have done damage, even if i was careful not to get wax or ash in my ear?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Doctor can check: "Candling" means different things to different people. It's hard to guess what might have happened to a particular person's ear. Thus, an in-person exam is needed, such as with one's primary care doctor. A teen can see her pediatrician, a family medicine doctor, or an internal medicine doctor. If no primary care doctor is available, the ER may be able to help too.
