Lots of calories!: Alcohol is toxic to living human tissue, so avoid drinking too much. One's primary care doctor can evaluate to see if the alcohol knocked off some important cells in the body. It such a situation, it may be a good idea to stop alcohol unless one is a daily drinker and at risk for withdrawal symptoms. Pure alcohol has about 7 calories per gram, sugar or carbs has 4 calories per gram, and fat has 9!
