Unlikely: Binge drinking is a problem for which you might get help from aa, as your binges are caused by situations that are controllable. The TIA in 2008 was due to an embolism which was addressed with pfo closure, a wise procedure, but the potential for alcohol complications seems to be the salient issue, and you can exert ounce of prevention now.

Unlikely: You probably had a clot in 2008 which crossed over to the arterial side via pfo. Pfo now closed. What was source of clot. If you drink to excess and pass out then clotting can be an issue but not necessarily cause TIA now.
