Prop: Your suggestions are good. One tip I give patients is to insure that their bowel movements won't be difficult. Take stool softener, don't be dehydrated, eat fiber rich foods or take Metamucil a few days before surgery, and consider having a rectal glycerin suppository on hand, just in case. Of course,don't eat.or drink(unless you need morning meds) after midnight the night before surgery.
