Neurocysticercosis: Cysticercosis is caused by infection with the larval form (or cysticercus) of the tapeworm Taenia solium (parasite). The most important clinical manifestations are caused by cysts in the central nervous system, known as neurocysticercosis. Seizures are common in patients with neurocysticercosis. Some people with cysticercosis do not need to be treated. There are medications available for treatment
