A member asked:

Could large fibroids cause amenorrhea? im 42, havent had a period since august (not pregnant). recently discovered i have 2 large fibroids, through a pelvic ultrasound. my period was regular before then. it just stopped suddenly.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Unlikely: more likely from ovulation irregularity, such as polycystic ovarian syndrome/insulin resistance. This can be tested, and treated. Progesterone therapy can cause a "period" type flow, to the keep the uterine lining healthy.
