A member asked:

Can my 7 month old baby get a flu shot even while he has a cold/flu?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends: Unless the kid has test confirmed flu I don't accept the label. Minor congestion/colds are not a reason to avoid the flu shot. The shot includes factors that trigger protection from 3-4 strains of the flu, so even those who had one flu strain early in the season can benefit from the shot.
