Basics: Antibiotics do not treat or cure viral infections but some docs use them for backup. Tiny red dots usually distributed over abdomen/trunk & other sites are a common sign of the final stage of a virus coming to the skin. In the decades before modern labs we often labeled the virus based on the pattern of these spots. This all sounds minor & not a drug reaction/allergy.

Dr. can recheck: Several possibilities in such cases. Doctor can recheck in-person or by video. Antibiotics usually means antibacterials, but viral infections are treated (usually no meds are needed) with antivirals. That means one needs to clarify with the prescriber what the plan was. Rashes are common in children, and can happen due to viral illnesses, bacterial illnesses, drug allergies, and many other causes.
