A member asked:

After 1st doze mmr 2days later my son had red bumps all over his body his doctor said its a water infection and was given antibiotic for10days but it lasts 2months later.now its the date of 2nd doze what to expect? &what to do? skip it ?severe rxn?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

MMR link : At most the bumps could represent a reaction to some component of the MMR like some get to foods. Reactions to the weakened virus strains in the vaccine show up 10-14 days after the shot. If it is shot related the same bumps would likely re-appear. One dose of MMR give protection to 85% of the population, 2 doses 95%.. I don't consider bumps a severe rxn. The choice is yours.
