just been treated for tonsillitis. last antibiotic (azith) taken on the 20th dec. my throat is still really uncomfortable during the day but from abt 6pm it's really sore and i have trouble swallowing. dry irritated cough. just dont feel 100%...

Sore throat: Possibilities include prolonged viral upper respiratory tract infection for which antibiotics aren't effective or infectious mononucleosis, although associated cough would be unusual. Nevertheless I recommend getting checked for mononucleosis and having another throat culture performed and holding off on antibiotics unless a pathogenic bacteria or yeast is found on culture.
