Which doctor can i see to check for causes of abdominal weight gain? i have colesterol at 6.7 (a bit above the norm) but my tummy and only my tummy is round and protruding, no pain. i used to be able to shed it. now it does not go. age 48.

Discard hernia: It is important to discard hernia. A visit to a general surgeon is advised to know if there is a defect in the abdominal wall. It is not totally related to obesity or high cholesterol, but anyway these diseases must be treated too.
