Why is my first blood pressure reading always high and then the second and third are normal?

Anxiety: This is common and normal. Almost certainly anxiety and anticipation. Assuming the intitial reading isn't dangerously high (e.g. over say 170/100 or something like that) and the next ones are under 120-130/70-80, you can safely assume your blood pressure is normal most of the time and nothing to worry about.
