I started getting upper arm muscle pain and then discovered a pea size lump in my arm that I think is causing the pain. It seems fixed and firm. Dr didnt quite know what it was and may have me get an ultrasound. What could it be?

Are 1/2 inch benign lymph nodes considered to be swollen? And can reactive lymph nodes remain feelable 2 years after infection as 1/2 pea sized lumps with no change? And would 1/2 inch reactive lymph nodes be considered enlarged too?
Very painful pea sized lump in left arm pit. Painful to the touch. Brand new. Seems movable. More painful than seems normal for swollen lymph node.
