Excellent question: Very perceptive of you. No, stenosis is actually fairly common, whereas compression due to stenosis is fortunately unusual. The canal diameter you report is pretty normal. However, periodic followups every few years for 5-10 years would not be unreasonable.

My cervical spine measures between 11mm and 13mm maximum. Radiologists repeatedly report generous canal dimensions. I thought under 13mm was stenosis. I have myelopathy symptoms :-( ?
