Depends on why: Medicine is an art, with lots of subtleties. Millions of people start a course of antibiotics to treat infections, pretty much happens every day. Seldom do any of them get blood cultures after their course of antibiotics. So, this question can only be answered by one's doctor... because the doctor knows the whole story, and most importantly knows WHY. Why the antibiotics and why blood cultures.
