Might be an asset: The panic state is a high adrenaline state, so don't just think of it as a panic state, but do the mind-over-body thing and turn it into superhero mode. Anyway, when one's brain tunes out sensations from the skin such as pain, she can continue fighting off the alien attackers (such as from outer space) despite receiving multiple nonfatal wounds. It might be a human adaptation.
