Dr. can evaluate: New throat pain, chills (fevers), and swollen neck glands can be from a strep throat infection (antibiotics are needed), a cold or the "flu" (Tamiflu may be needed), or from some other inflammation or infection. Usually, a person sees the doctor if the symptoms are bothersome, recurrent, or don't go away quickly (mainly to see if prescription meds are needed).
