A member asked:

I've had severe diarrhea for more than a year. i have light brown watery stools five or six times a day, which is highly annoying. all of it tends to get in the way as i'm a college teacher with three hour lectures. thanks so much?

There are several possible causes. Some are inconvenient but not serious (e.g. irritable bowel syndrome), others more serious or even dangerous, like inflammatory bowel disease, certain infections, and others. The question is why you haven't sought medical care before now. Do it soon, either your primary care physician, or perhaps directly consult with a gastroenterologist. Good luck.

Time to seek medical attention, start with your primary care doc who can start work up and refer you to a gastroenterologist as needed. Maintain proper hydration in the interim, keep a log of symptoms with food, meds, supplements ingested.
