It's time for doctor: Chest pains that are brief can be due to minor problems or to serious ones. One's primary care doctor can evaluate, or one can use the ER if needed. Possible causes include angina heart pain, partial pneumothorax (collapsed lung), pneumonia, stomach reflux, pleuritis, pericarditis, rib sprains or strains, etc... One should not wait with such symptoms.
