Case dependent : This is impossible to answer without a clinical evaluation. Everyone's situation is unique. In general, fewer teeth are extracted these days than was the case in years past. However, you should make an appointment with an orthodontic specialist in your area to answer your questions more specifically.

90%: Wisdom teeth are teeth. They usually need to be pulled as when there is crowding in the back and no room for them, leaving them can be a big problem, many practictioners do not take out teeth for orthodontics when there is crowding. They expand the arch form and flare the lower teeth forward. The literature shows this is unstable and facial balance is worsened. I don't agree with this approach.

Depends: On if you have excessive crowding. Even then, we have a number of techniques that we can employ (e.g., slenderizing) that can avoid the need to pull teeth. Best to discuss options with your orthodontist.

3 in 10: Excluding those pesky wisdom teeth, approximately 30% of people who require malocclusion correction also require extractions to allow proper alignment! bone support! and function. Seek consultation with qualified orthodontic specialist to determine the correct treatment to resolve your individual problem.
