A 41-year-old member asked:
Ive just had an early scan 6w & have one gestational sac, three yolks and one heart beat. does this mean that one embryo split into three and these are identical triplets? and can the two yolks catch up still? next scan seems too far away

Possibly: split into three, but from what you describe, only one heart beat, suggests only one will continue to grow. Next ultrasound will be helpful, and be sure to discuss your concerns with your doctor as well.
