A member asked:

I'm 8 weeks pregnant. gestational sac has had a "collapsing" shape since 6 weeks. it has not improved shape, but fetus is growing normal and has a strong healthy heart beat. doctor prescribed 200mg progesterone. anything i can do to help the chances?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

The addition of progesterone to supplement what the growing placenta is making at "8w" should improve the chances of avoiding a "miscarriage". A repeat sonogram in two weeks and/or a quantitative HCG serum level is helpful to monitor normal growth of the pregancy.
