A member asked:

My father was prescribed levetiracetam 500 mgs twice a day a month ago for a head injury (thin strip of subdural hemorrhage - 2 to 2.2 mm). today's ct shows no hemorrhage. the neurosurgeon stopped levetiracetam straightaway, no tapering. is this okay?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Perhaps: If seizures were present, then the drug would not have been stopped, so we can assume there were none. You did not mention dose, so it is difficult to address the tapering or lack of it. By now, it is a mute point if there have been no seizures, then it was ok.
