A member asked:

Can walking too much cause leg pain the next day? i walked close to 4 miles yesterday and at a fast pace. legs been achey since last night. should i rest? no swelling

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Overdoing it?...: Overdoing anything, mental or physical, will lead to some predictable effects. Using the legs too much leads to leg aches and pains, etc... Relative rest is helpful, meaning don't stop all activity, but decrease it and then one can gradually increase it again. It is a matter of knowing one's limits, based on one's own body, it's level of conditioning, etc... If worried, a doctor can evaluate.
