A member asked:

Medicine for social anxiety?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends on severity: Some people are successful in resolving social anxiety issues through talk therapy, but moderate and severe patients usually need both talk therapy and medication. One's primary care doctor can help, as he knows the patient well enough to appreciate the severity. A psychiatrist helps because he can choose to use medication or talk therapy or both. Medication is better than suffering without it.
