Take him to doc: Given location of the swelling and in the absence of any other useful information, best would be to take him to the doc promptly. From trauma to possible infections that may be rapidly spreading and result in loss of function, a variety of conditions may account for his problem. Or in other words this needs to be addressed as a medical emergency.
