Today i found a brown patch on my face that i hadnt noticed before. i thought it was just something on my skin so i scratched it. it came off along with the top layer of my skin. i saw a derm for a checkup this year. what could this be?

Keratosis: Most likely a brown lesion that you describe would be a seborrheic keratosis. They are common and are the product of skin oil and skin cells.
