Saline nose wash: Young infants are troubled by narrow nasal passages.Exposure to dust, fragrances, smoke & other irritants aggravate them..Baby tries to flush these out with mucous but this often ends as congestion & produces rattling with breathing. The best rx is washing out the nose with saline & suctioning the remainder. Eliminate irritants from babies environment & this will happen less.

Fever?: If the baby has a fever, poor feeding or other symptoms such as cough, please see your PCP. The use of nasal saline drops and gentle suction is recommended.
