Reactive lymph node: A fatty hilum is usually described as a feature of normal lymph nodes. Lymph nodes are considered reactive when they appear enlarged due to a local inflammation site and usually workup includes a full ENT exam in trying to find the source for the inflammation and in your case, having a reactive lymph node.As far as size up to 1 cm or 10 mm, lymph nodes are considered normal in size.
