No, but...: If you are the unluckiest of all people, then yes. Otherwise, it doesn't happen in real life. Think about CT scans, which are multiple x-rays, so more radiation. As long as there is a good reason for a scan, CT's are ok to do. If repeated scans are planned for following a serious illness, a patient can ask her doctor what options there are for decreasing the total number of scans in her lifetime.

X-rays: Each time you had x-rays taken 30-40 years ag it was less radiation than a normal day's background radiation, or a day in the mountains, or a couple of days on the beach. If you are concerned, speak to your practitioners. But to diagnose without imaging is to ask your doctors to guess about our health.
