I had a carotid us done because ive been having syncope episodes and it showed that i have large lymph nodes noted above the left carotid bifurcation with a maximal diameter of 2.5cm. should i be concerned?

Lymph node. : If the lymph node is not causing compression to artery, I do not think this is the cause of your syncope. Causes for lymphadenopathy include the following: peritonsilar abscess, HIV, cat scratch, common cold, Ebstein barr virus, Toxoplamosis, TB, Lyphoma, Neck tumor. Lymphnods are often reactive secondary to a virus. However if enlargement continues see your provider. Often biopsy needed.
