Vertigo: Sounds like vertigo stemming from the inner ear. A VNG can confirm the diagnosis. The most effective medicine I know of for vertigo is diazepam. If that didn't work I'd be wondering what else it migh be. Occasionally vertigo can come from other sources than the inner ear. Change in head position aggravating the symptoms is consistent though with inner ear problems (dislocated otoliths)
