For the past 9 months i've had chronic (3-4 days every other week) head pressure in back of head, tender scalp and painful to touch scalp lower right side. neurologist did exam and said it was normal/probably migraines. should i push for an mri?

No need : For what you described, otherwise the neurologist would have asked for it. It sounds like tension headache, or scalp inflamnation/irritation, your primary doctor would re-evaluate, you may dermatologist input as well, good luck
