Doctor can recheck: If one has a skin cyst or abscess, and it is opened up and drained, it should heal from the bottom up. That means a hole while healing is a good thing, because junk can drain out. If it seals itself, or if the hole is too small, junk will build-up inside (that's bad) and need a recheck with the doctor to see if re-draining is needed. Antibiotics sometimes are needed, but other times are not.
