See a doctor: peritonsillar abscess, if severe, can be life threatening. I will advice you to go see your primary care doctor. If drainage is needed, you may have to go see an ENT (ear, nose and throat) specialist or oral surgeon, who will decide on the best approach for drainage.

See an ENT MD: If you have a peritonsillar abscess this is best treated by an ENT physician who may aspirate the abscess with a needle and syringe or drain it with a scalpel. Either way it will be through your mouth usually under local anesthesia.
