May be infected: A big bump on the face that hurts may be a deeper-than-average acne bump. A primary care doctor or a dermatologist can help treat it. Sometimes it will come to a head and drain itself. Sometimes the doctor can open a bump to see what is inside. If the doctor feels oral antibiotics will help, that's an option too.
