Hypertension workup : As a young adult, I’m going to assume your workup will include a cardiology and nephrology (kidney doctor) consult. You may have an echocardiogram (ultrasound of heart), a kidney ultrasound, electrolyte studies of blood and urine, kidney function testing, including a hormone called aldosterone, and thyroid testing. If no etiology is found, you may get abdominal imaging and further urine studies.
